My name is Abigail (Abbey) London. I am a current student at Ithaca College. I am majoring in Integrated Marketing Communication. I graduated from Morristown High School. This is where I started to develop my passion for photography. Over the summer I work at camp as a communications photographer. Therefore, I spend the entire summer photographing the camp's activities and most of that consists of action shots and posed group shots. I really enjoy this line of work. I am currently a staff photographer for Ithaca College's newspaper, The Ithacan. When I'm not photographing in school or at camp I am usually practicing one of my instruments or spinning to practice for color guard. I love art and music. Those two things are a huge part of my life and give me an immense amount of joy. I truly have a huge passion and love for music and art.
My work currently is a variation of portrait and environment photography. I really like enjoy working with polaroids and the natural lighting and surroundings around us. Studio photography is also fun but I enjoy the lack of control that environment photography hands you. Single shot photography like polaroid photography is great because of that feeling of one time to get the perfect shot. Most of my work is an eclectic gallery of portraits, nature and random photos that I've taken from places that I've traveled to.
I would love to see my photography grow into a more natural and travel log based photography while also keeping up with well-done portraits. I would also love to start photographing for bands in a concert setting. I hope that in the future my photography will grow into something even more beautiful with a new sense of perception, depth, and refinement.
As a photographer, I am really inspired by Andy Warhol, Adam Elmakias, Robert Mapplethorpe, and Annie Leibovitz. Of course, there are many more photographers that spark my interest but these are a few of the standout photographers for me. I really like the diversity and oddities in their work. Each of their shots has a slight complexity mixed with a look of ease.
